At Flex, we make employment selection decisions based on merit, qualifications, and abilities. As an employer, our mission is to provide an environment where every colleague is empowered to grow personally and professionally.
The stress of changing careers or searching for a new job can be exacerbated by the uncertainty of available opportunities and a competitive labor market. To provide guidance about what to expect when you apply for an open role at Flex, members of our talent acquisition team shared their knowledge about the recruitment process and how to stand out. You can find more career advice on our @CareersAtFlex channel.
Applying for a job at Flex: The recruitment process
Our recruitment process is easy to follow: when you find a job posting that matches your skills and experience, please apply via Workday, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS). If your qualifications match the job requirements, a recruiter will contact you to set up a phone screen. Our recruiters’ best practice is to notify you within three business days of any changes to your job application status. However, that can change depending on volume. We don’t accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
Every application is visible in our system and, for you, in your candidate account. When you log into your account, you can check your application status and update your resume and contact information.
During our recruitment processes, we will never:
- Ask you for money
- Offer to send you a check before doing any work
- Require you to provide sensitive personal information, such as your driver’s license or social security number (this happens later in our process)
- Use our executives to solicit and contact you directly about a job, especially if they don’t know you
- Send you emails from free email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, WhatsApp, WeChat, and others
How to make your resume stand out
Wondering “how do I make my resume stand out?” You aren’t the only one. How a candidate can make their resume more visible to hiring managers and recruiters is one of the most popular questions we receive. To provide you with an answer, we reached out to Anusha Sathyamoorthy, our talent acquisition specialist from Chennai, India.
According to Anusha, you can make your resume stand out in general by following two simple rules:
1. Make sure you keep your resume updated, short and concise. Try to keep it to a maximum of two pages. Focus on the experience that matches the job description.
2. Highlight your achievements, improvements, certifications, and the impact your actions have had on the business or projects.
How interviews are conducted
The past few years have been marked by uncertainty, physical distancing, and hybrid options designed to keep everyone safe. But even during the worst of times, we know, that kindness and empathy go a long way in the business of hiring talent.
We reached out to Laura de la Garza, our talent acquisition specialist in Guadalajara, Mexico, to walk you through the interview stage during the recruitment process.
Laura has worked for more than ten years in the human resources world, interviewing talent daily. She enjoys connecting with people to provide them with the opportunity of a global career, no matter where they’re based.
And because she cares about the health and safety of our colleagues and our candidates, she – and Flex – have adapted to an improved interview process in these post-pandemic times.
When you’re selected, you should expect a screening interview with a recruiter via the phone, to evaluate your qualifications.
When you reach the second and third interview, the hiring manager is involved and that’s when I recommend each candidate to turn on the video feature.
It’s the closest thing we have to a face-to-face interview, and it is a great opportunity for you to see your future team.

Employee development: Training for new and existing employees
Career development skills training is fundamental in adapting to a competitive and demanding market. To offer insights into employee training and development opportunities, we reached out to Christine Adams, our talent acquisition specialist from Austin, Texas.
All our positions have different levels of training you can receive.
In general, we have excellent training modules in our system, and everyone starts on that learning path when they join. We sometimes look for a candidate with the experience that will allow them to hit the ground running, depending on job and customer needs. But the overall culture at Flex is to help one another to succeed.
— Christine Adams, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Flex
Christine also shared that for many of our roles, we’ve implemented a “buddy” system for new hires, helping them navigate the challenges of an unfamiliar environment and new teams.
We want you to succeed and to feel appreciated so you can bring your best to work. Your success is what makes us an outstanding global team, driven by passion and collaboration. At Flex, we also value and respect our colleagues, and we take pride in the unique perspectives and experiences brought by diverse talent. As our CEO Revathi Advaithi has said many times, “We are a company of people.”
Join our team of driven individuals who are pushing the limits of what’s possible.
