Over the past several weeks, the Flex Foundation has been working diligently to partner with leading organizations and make financial contributions to help support efforts in combating this pandemic in the countries where we have a presence. At Flex, we want to take a moment to recognize these amazing organizations and share with you what we’re doing to help.
Worldwide
The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund supports the World Health Organization’s (WHO) work across all countries to prepare for cases, and to respond if cases appear; to track and understand the spread of the virus; to make sure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments.
China
The Flex Foundation partnered with Give2Asia. Our contributions supported a fund that provided 43,000 isolation gowns to three hospitals in Wuhan, 30 blood diagnostic machines, and 20 ventilator machines across five cities as well as 50,000 meals for medical staff and patients. In addition, locally we supported Shanghai United Foundation to provide psychological support to medical staff and their families, and other support to vulnerable people who have recovered from the virus in Hubei Wuhan.
Europe
The Flex Foundation is partnering with The International Red Cross response funding for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in affected countries in Europe. Donations are being made through The American Red Cross which sends the donations to designated European countries.
United Kingdom
The Flex Foundation is partnering with the Cheshire Community Foundation and Warrington COVID-19 Response Fund to provide support to individuals and families who are struggling. The project mainly provides funds to help restock the foodbank and pay for fuel to enable the delivery of food parcels.
Poland
The Flex Foundation is partnering with Fundacia To i Co to buy respirators for local hospitals in Tczew. Flex volunteers will help with sewing of protective masks for hospitals and other medical units, fire and police stations, social services and other non-governmental organizations.
Ukraine
The Flex Foundation is partnering with the Transcarpathia Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine to support 10 medical units with personal protective equipment, including disposable protective suits and FFP3 respirator masks.
Romania
The Flex Foundation is providing support to Profilaxis Medical Aid Foundation to support the community of Timisoara through an online tool that will asses the symptoms of citizens with probable signs of COVID-19. This will enable them to provide personalized counselling to those with higher risk to their health and reduce the risk of contagion.
United States
We have been partnering with The American Red Cross to deliver critical blood supplies to help patients in need and provide critical relief services to people affected by COVID-19. At the same time, we have partnered with Bay Area customers to donate funds to support the Silicon Valley homeless population and non-profits during the pandemic through designated funds from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Malaysia
We supported the Malaysian Red Crescent Society through Give2Asia. MRCS will utilize this grant to continue to provide vital health services, support public health authorities and local agencies, provide sanitation supplies to areas under ROM orders, raise awareness and provides services to affected and marginalized groups, and improve pandemic preparedness through PPE procurement and training.
Our support to Mercy Malaysia will be used to purchase personal protective equipment for the Malaysian Ministry of Health’s frontlines involved in the fight against COVID-19.
India
We supported Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) through Give2Asia. SEEDS will provide wage support, meal kits, and family hygiene kits to approximately 370 individuals.
Mexico
We are supporting the Mexican Red Cross to buy respirators to contribute to the recovery of COVID-19 victims.
Brazil
We are working to find the best way to support Brazilian communities to prevent contagion. In addition to our corporate efforts, we couldn’t be prouder of our people who are always ready to give back.
We have set up a United Nations Foundations site where our employees can donate to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, organized by the WHO. This grant will support the WHO’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including helping countries prevent, detect, and manage the novel coronavirus, particularly those where the needs are the greatest.
Our sites around the world are also assisting their local communities with surgical mask donations and other medical supplies when possible.
A heartfelt thank you to all who are working tirelessly to find a cure and everyone who’s supporting them.
